Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You. – Dr. Seuss

The reason I started this blog is best explained in the first post I wrote.

I am an inquisitive person and writing, reading and constantly learning has always been a passion of mine. In this way I am definitely in a suitable career. I get to read newspapers, websites and magazines all day – and write research reports using all the information I gather. Although it has not been easy adjusting to the working world (read about my thoughts on that here). I studied at Tuks (Tuks of Niks!) and loved it there! I have a Bcom degree in Investment Management and am currently a CFA Candidate studying towards becoming a Charterholder.

I have always had a keen interest in psychology and people and would love to become involved in the evolving niche of behavioural economics. My “To me, From me” Christmas present last year was Dan Ariely’s book Predictably Irrational and my interest after reading this into the field is now even greater! Definitely a book I would recommend to everyone, even if you are not to keen on economics – it is an easy read and can be practically applied to all areas of one’s life.

I will start a list on this blog too of all the books I have read and would recommend to people. For me reading is an escape, an adventure and a growing process of maturing my beliefs, thoughts and perceptions about this world and specifically how people live.

Another passions of mine is food and I love finding exciting new places to eat, recipes to make and entertaining my friends and family (not so easy on a starting salary but hoping that one day I can do much more of this!). I will also share with you places that I have visited or meals that I have made that I think should be shared 🙂

My boyfriend, Wes, and I started mountain biking recently and are both absolutely hooked! We are out cycling every single weekend, are enjoying breaks away to find some exciting new trails and have diarised every single event we would like to partake in for the next year already. Our lives now revolve around this sport and so far it is the best decision we have ever made as a couple. We keep talking about it and we have both fallen in love with each other all over again as a result of this shared passion and I think doing something together like this will most probably be the reason our relationship will last. Read my posts categories under mountain biking to follow our adventures.

I am an exceptionally passionate, loyal and dedicated person. Acquiring new skills and being rewarded for hard work efficiency and flexibility are important to me as a person and I have learnt a great deal about all these factors; being wholly independent for the past six years. Working with pride is essential in everything that I do and I have a strong inherent sense of integrity.

I am hoping this blog will help me to document my life experiences and be a place where I can share things that I find stimulating. Of course anyone who owns a blog is also quite active on all the other social networks! View the Find femmegypsy page.

Please share your thoughts with me in the ‘comments’ section below my posts. As I have said I love people and learning and would love to interact with you!
